Welder Helper

Pay = $18–$19/hour

Schedule : Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Occasional overtime on Fridays

Welder Helper Responsibilities:

• Assist welders with material preparation, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning
• Help assemble metal parts and structures
• Organize and maintain tools, materials, and equipment
• Load, unload, and store raw materials such as metal sheets, rods, and components
• Prepare surfaces for welding by removing rust, dirt, and other debris
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of waste materials
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
• Operate basic shop tools such as grinders, saws, and drills
• Measure and mark materials according to specifications
• Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment as needed
• Support the lead welder or shop supervisor with additional tasks as assigned

Welder Helper Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and metalworking techniques preferred, but not required
• Strong willingness to learn welding and fabrication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
• Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required

Welder Helper Preferred Experience:

• 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred
• Knowledge of MIG welding is helpful
• Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
• Ability to work in shop conditions that may include heat, noise, and dust
