Financial Accountant

North Brisbane | Financial Accounting & Advisory | Temp Role


This role offers a strong mix of financial accounting, advisory work, process improvement and stakeholder engagement. It will suit someone who enjoys understanding how a business operates.


Key responsibilities:

• Review financial workflows and related administrative processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce duplication and streamline ways of working.
• Analyse financial information and provide clear insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Strengthen financial governance by supporting sound controls, accurate reporting and consistent financial practices across the organisation.
• Ensure financial activities align with relevant accounting requirements, internal policies and established procedures.
• Review existing finance systems and processes and contribute to the implementation of practical improvements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and variance analysis activities.
• Identify financial risks, process inefficiencies and opportunities to improve overall business performance.
• Build productive relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally to support business and project outcomes.
• Provide clear financial advice and recommendations to managers and key decision-makers.

You will bring: 

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Experience in a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Advisor or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls and governance practices.
• Experience reviewing and improving financial or administrative processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn financial information into practical recommendations.
• High attention to detail and confidence working with complex financial information.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Sound Excel capability and experience working across financial systems.
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
