The Opportunity
We are working with a rapidly expanding professional services firm in Limerick that is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Portfolio Manager to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong practice experience who enjoys working closely with clients, managing a varied portfolio and supporting the development of junior team members.
The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients across the Mid-West business community, providing high-quality accounting and advisory support while working closely with the firm's senior leadership team.
A strong understanding of the business environment across the Mid-West is an essential part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact and trusted financial adviser.
- Oversee the preparation and review of accounts and financial statements.
- Provide accounting, compliance and advisory support to clients.
- Ensure client assignments and statutory deadlines are completed accurately and on time.
- Review work prepared by junior members of the accounts team and provide technical guidance and support.
- Manage workflow across the portfolio, working with the wider accounts team to ensure deadlines and client requirements are met.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
- Identify opportunities to add value to clients through additional accounting and advisory services.
- Work closely with the Partner/Director on client matters and business development.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior members of the team.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the practice.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- A qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Experienced within an accountancy practice environment.
- Comfortable managing a portfolio of clients and taking ownership of client relationships.
- Technically strong with good knowledge of accounting and financial reporting.
- Experienced in reviewing accounts and the work of more junior team members.
- Commercially aware with a good understanding of the Mid-West business environment.
- A strong communicator who enjoys working directly with clients.
- Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A confident team player with the ability to support and develop junior colleagues.
The Team
You will join an established accounts function of 8 team members, with the wider team deployed across different client portfolios depending on workload and demand.
The Accounts Portfolio Manager will report directly to the Partner/Director, providing an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play an important role in the continued growth of the practice.
