Quality Technician

Pay Rate: $21-$28/hr (Level 1 to Level 2)
Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pm

Job Summary: 
The position involves handling, inspecting, and cleaning optical glass materials, ensuring accuracy and quality. 

Responsibilities:
•    Safely handle and store raw materials, including optical glass blanks, lenses, and other optical elements.
•    Inspect optical glass for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
•    Preparing and thoroughly cleaning all materials according to specifications
•    Verify the accuracy and quality of cut lenses and optical elements using precision instruments.
•    Maintain accurate records of production metrics, quality checks, and equipment performance.
•    Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
•    Collaborate with the production team to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
•    Troubleshoot minor issues on cutting equipment and perform basic maintenance.

Skills: 
•    Knowledge of optical glass materials and their properties.
•    Proficiency in quality inspections
•    Proficiency in optical cleaning
•    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
•    Familiarity with precision instruments and measurement tools

Education:
•    Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in materials science, chemistry metallurgy or physics is desirable, not required
