Financial Controller | Initial 6 Month Contract with high potential to extend | Brisbane CBD

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to step into a key leadership role within a high-performing, investment-backed business based in Brisbane CBD. This is starting as a 6 month contract with high potential to extend, supporting during a leadership transition, with an ASAP start.

Working closely with the executive team, this role will take ownership of the finance function and partner across a diverse portfolio of businesses, driving strong financial governance and commercial insight.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring strong financial control and reporting
• Oversee month-end, forecasting, and end-to-end accounting processes
• Provide commercial insights and partner with stakeholders across multiple entities
• Support and guide a small team (shared services exposure advantageous)
• Liaise with external advisors on tax and compliance matters

About you:

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior Finance Manager capacity
• Strong operational finance and financial control capability
• Comfortable working across multiple entities or business units
• Commercially minded with the ability to quickly get across the business
• Confident stakeholder manager with strong communication skills
• Exposure to investment-backed, PE, or complex environments is beneficial but not essential
