Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join the Rio Tinto Brockman team.
This opportunity is ideal for a skilled tradesperson with strong fabrication and welding experience, particularly in steel fabrication and shutdown scoping activities. The successful candidate will bring a proactive, team-focused attitude and be willing to support a range of workshop activities, including assisting the fitting team with roller maintenance, responding to radio communications, and contributing to day-to-day workshop operations as required.
Operating on an 8 days on 6 days off roster (12.5 hour shifts, days only), you will play a key role in assisting the workshop team.

Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join the Rio Tinto Brockman team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will:
- Performing welding activities using both MIG and Stick welding techniques on equipment, including chute repair and patching work.
- Identifying and scoping maintenance defects requiring fabrication repairs, while providing timely feedback on asset condition and performance through the asset management system
- Assisting the wider maintenance team by responding to radio calls and supporting workshop operations as required.
- Executing maintenance tasks in accordance with approved work instructions, procedures, and standards.
- Complete post-maintenance equipment commissioning and clean-up
- Work safely within Rio Tinto procedures
- Demonstrated experience in MIG and Stick welding.
- Hold a trade certificate as a Boilermaker.
- Hold a current Forklift Licence (EWP, HRWL and SAP experience are highly desirable).
- High attention to detail, particularly during welding and maintenance activities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous mining or heavy industry experience.
- Commitment to work the rostered shifts (12.5 hour shifts, Days Only)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Dedication to everyone's safety.
- Current C Class manual driver's licence.
- Relevant trade qualifications and certificates
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and other testing.
