Contracts Specialist

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Contracts Specialist to support a busy procurement team managing a high volume of service agreements across both project and operational business units. This fully remote contract offers the opportunity to oversee vendor sourcing activities while also supporting contract delivery related to exploration, health and safety, and other operational initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to step into a fast-moving environment with minimal onboarding and quickly manage a significant workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of service agreements and purchase contracts from initiation through closeout.
• Coordinate both pre-award and post-award contract activities.
• Prepare and issue RFPs for lower to moderate complexity procurement packages.
• Support sourcing, evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Administer agreements supporting exploration programs, drilling campaigns, aviation services, accommodations, fuel supply, surveying, HSE, and other operational requirements.
• Monitor contract milestones, renewals, and compliance requirements.
• Work with internal stakeholders to prioritize incoming procurement requests.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and contract records.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and contract administration processes.
• Provide flexible support across procurement activities as business priorities evolve.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of procurement or contract management experience.
• Experience managing both pre-award and post-award contracts.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles and contract lifecycle management.
• Experience preparing and managing RFPs.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload with minimal supervision.
• Experience supporting exploration, mining, industrial, energy, or major project procurement is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
• Available to work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with core business hours aligned to the client's team.

Remuneration

• $80/hr target rate
• Remote / Hybrid work available within Western Canada
