Contract Role, 1 year with possible extension

$22.00 to $25.00 an hour

Lab Floor Cleaner & Glassware Washer

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of laboratory floors and glassware to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize laboratory floors, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting as per SOP requirements.
• Wash, rinse, and dry laboratory glassware (e.g., beakers, flasks, pipettes) using appropriate cleaning agents and procedures analytical use washers) guidelines handling procedures wet floors.
• Ensure all glassware is free from residue, contamination, and suitable.
• Operate and maintain glassware washing equipment (manual or automated).
• Segregate clean and used glassware properly and store in designated areas.
• Dispose of waste materials in accordance with safety and environmental.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor for replenishment.
• Follow all laboratory safety protocols, including PPE usage and chemicals.
• Support audit readiness by ensuring cleanliness standards are consistently met.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, breakages, or safety concerns promptly.
• Removal or emptying of trash cans regularly.
• Use the caution signs while cleaning/mopping the floors for safety concerns.
• Performing the activities without distraction (should not use the mobile in the lab).

Physical Requiremets:

• Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs. or more regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching.
• Must be able to wear required PPE for extended periods.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in laboratory, cleaning, or housekeeping roles is a plus.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and safety practices.

Skills & Competencies:

• Attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to follow SOPs and instructions accurately.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of chemical safety (preferred).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Work Environment:

• Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and glassware.
• Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Must adhere to PPE and safety regulations at all times.
• Requires adherence to strict safety and cleanliness standards.
