Apply directPosition Overview Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to support day-to-day logistics and materials operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, managing material flow throughout the production floor, supporting international logistics activities, processing RMAs, and monitoring open purchase orders to ensure operational continuity.
The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or inventory management and possess the ability to effectively coordinate across procurement, production, engineering, and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all receiving activities, including verification, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials and equipment.
- Manage domestic and international shipping activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery.
- Process and coordinate Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure proper packaging, shipment preparation, and carrier coordination for outbound orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support material tracking throughout the manufacturing floor.
- Coordinate movement of materials between production, engineering, stockroom, and warehouse locations.
- Monitor and review open purchase orders to identify shortages, delays, or potential supply chain issues.
- Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to resolve material discrepancies and expedite critical orders.
- Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and inventory audits.
- Maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Production Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable domestic and international shipping regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and optimize material flow.
- 3+ years of experience in materials coordination, logistics, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or supply chain operations.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes and documentation.
- Experience coordinating RMAs and managing material returns.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience in aerospace, satellite, electronics, semiconductor, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with import/export regulations, customs documentation, and international logistics.
- Knowledge of inventory management best practices and cycle counting processes.
- Experience supporting purchasing activities and open PO management.
- Forklift certification or warehouse equipment experience.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
