Warehouse Associate -Cross Dock Lead - 7/20

About the Role:
 Warehouse Team Lead for the Sort Department is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily operations of the Sort Department. This position ensures accurate and timely sorting of inbound and outbound packages, adherence to safety standards, and consistent execution of operational goals. The Team Lead supports the Warehouse Supervisor by providing direction to team members, monitoring performance, and ensuring the department operates efficiently and effectively.

Pay Rate: $24.25/hour

Available Shift Times:

• Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct daily sort operations, including the receiving, sorting, and staging of packages.
• Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure all packages are processed within required timeframes.
• Lead team huddles to communicate goals, updates, and safety reminders.
• Ensure all items are sorted accurately based on destination, zone, carrier, or service level.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues during the sorting process, escalating as needed.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of sorting equipment and RF scanners.
• Train new team members and provide continuous coaching and feedback.
• Promote and enforce safety practices and compliance with company policies.
• Track team productivity and quality metrics; report data to supervisors or management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Sort Department area.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse or similar environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills including exceptional attendance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds
• Ability to push utility carts up to 60 pounds
• Ability to use carts, dollies and hand trucks
• Ability to go up and down stairs (where applicable)
• Ability to work at a height of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine (where applicable)
