Finance Change Lead

Kingston Human Capital are partnering with a Queensland Government department to appoint an experienced Finance Transformation Advisor for a six-month contract.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who combines a strong finance background with demonstrated change and implementation experience.

YOUR NEW ROLE
Working within a Queensland Government Finance function, you’ll help deliver a program of finance, procurement and governance improvements.

The program includes improvements across finance service delivery, supplier payments, corporate cards, financial delegations, procurement processes and financial controls, providing a varied mix of operational finance and governance change.

The focus is firmly on implementation - coordinating multiple initiatives, improving business processes and working with stakeholders to successfully adopt new ways of working with sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive multiple finance and business improvement initiatives through implementation.
• Analyse and redesign processes to improve efficiency, compliance and service delivery.
• Develop implementation plans, process documentation, guidance and supporting materials.
• Coordinate activities and keep multiple workstreams progressing against deadlines.
• Support improvements across finance operations, procurement, payments and financial governance.
• Implement process and control improvements arising from reviews and recommendations.
• Engage and influence stakeholders to drive adoption and behavioural change.
• Support the transition of new processes into BAU.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Strong finance experience combined with change, transformation or business improvement capability.
• Demonstrated experience taking improvements through implementation and adoption.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive behavioural change and compliance.
• Strong business process analysis and improvement capability.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong organisation and project coordination skills across multiple priorities.
• Queensland Government or broader public sector experience will be highly regarded.

Highly desirable:
Queensland Government experience and exposure to shared services, supplier payments, corporate cards, financial delegations, procurement or financial controls.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

• 6-month contract with an immediate start.
• $88–$100 per hour + super, depending on experience (neg.)
