Nesco Resource has partnered with a well-established full-service law firm in Uniondale, NY in seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced and collaborative legal environment. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, exceptionally organized, and experienced in handling bankruptcy filings and related procedures. This is a fully onsite position in Uniondale, NY
 
Responsibilities of the Bankruptcy Legal Assistant:

  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and all related court documents.
  • Manage case deadlines, court calendars, and critical filing dates to ensure timely compliance.
  • Manage electronic filing of bankruptcy petitions, motions, and related documents using the U.S. Bankruptcy Court's CM/ECF system.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with firm procedures.
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, including organizing documents, preparing materials, and supporting case development.
Qualifications of the Bankruptcy Legal Assistant:
  • Prior experience as a bankruptcy legal assistant
  • Experience with CM/ECF and bankruptcy software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
