Financial Reporting Manager - Insurance

We're partnering with a well-established, medium-sized insurance group to appoint a Financial Reporting Manager into their Group Finance team. The organisation have excellent work life balance, a stable, high performing finance team and offer hybrid working arrangements (two days in office, three days from home).

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you'll lead a small team and take ownership of the delivery of statutory and regulatory reporting, while playing a key role in technical accounting, process improvement and projects across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of two finance professionals.
• Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Oversee statutory reporting and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure compliance with APRA, ASIC, AASB and IFRS reporting requirements.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain a strong financial control environment.
• Partner with auditors and coordinate the year-end audit process.
• Provide technical accounting advice across the business.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the reporting function.
• Support finance transformation and broader strategic projects as required.

About You

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Experience within the insurance industry is essential.
• Strong background in financial, statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and in particular IFRS 17.
• Previous leadership experience, or ready to step into your first people management role.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
