From improving health outcomes in regional and remote communities to advancing tropical health research and workforce capability, JCU's work changes lives locally and globally.

Today, JCU educates more than 20,000 students across campuses in Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane and Singapore and is recognised internationally for its contribution to health, sustainability and regional development. The University remains deeply connected to the communities it serves, with a commitment to creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics through education, research and partnership.

As one of JCU's largest and most influential colleges, The College of Healthcare Sciences encompasses nursing, midwifery, psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and sport and exercise science. Through extensive clinical partnerships, research activity, and student placements across regional, rural, and remote communities, the College plays a critical role in developing the healthcare workforce of regional Australia.

The opportunity
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academy, the Dean, Healthcare Sciences will provide strategic leadership for the College's teaching, research and engagement agenda. Responsible for the ongoing growth, sustainability and success of the College, the Dean will lead innovation across curriculum, research, industry partnerships and workforce development while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You will bring experience leading complex academic environments, a demonstrated capacity to drive organisational performance through periods of change and growth, and a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges shaping contemporary higher education. Equally important will be your ability to build highly engaged teams, foster innovation and create meaningful partnerships that enhance outcomes for students, staff, communities and industry.

Most importantly, you will be inspired by the opportunity to contribute to a university with a unique purpose and motivated by the chance to strengthen health outcomes for regional, rural and remote communities.
