Job Location: Hialeah Gardens
Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $55k may pay a little more based on experience.
- Manage Air, Ocean, and Domestic freight operations as assigned by the Department Manager.
- Maintain and grow customer relationships by providing exceptional service and supporting business development efforts when needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, vendors, carriers, and overseas agents, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Warehouse, Accounting, and Sales teams to ensure efficient and seamless shipment execution.
- Ensure all shipments are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company procedures.
Shipment Coordination & Operations
- Respond to all customer inquiries promptly and maintain a current email inbox, ensuring all emails are addressed by the end of each business day unless awaiting additional information.
- Receive customer shipping requests, including destination requirements and required sailing or delivery dates.
- Provide customers with the most efficient transportation options, offering direct service whenever possible or a single feeder connection, along with alternative sailing options that provide a 15–20 day scheduling buffer.
- Confirm customer approval of the selected service and arrange bookings with the appropriate carrier.
- Create and maintain shipment files within the appropriate operational system.
- Submit booking requests to the corresponding operations department and coordinate shipment processing.
- Verify that both buying and selling rates have been established and approved before shipment execution.
- Ensure booking confirmations are received within 24–48 hours and verify all details for accuracy, including:
- Destination
- Equipment type
- Estimated Time of Departure (ETD)
- Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)
Shipment Tracking & Customer Service
- Monitor shipments throughout transit to confirm they depart, connect (if applicable), and arrive as scheduled.
- Follow up with destination agents to confirm cargo arrival, customs clearance, and final delivery status.
- Provide customers with timely shipment updates and proactively resolve any operational issues.
