Position Overview

Commercial Refrigeration Technicians are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a wide variety of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

Systems and equipment may include:

  • Parallel rack systems
  • Walk-in coolers and freezers
  • Ice machines
  • Rooftop HVAC units
  • Refrigeration controls and electrical systems


Additional responsibilities include:

  • Leak detection and refrigerant recovery/charging
  • Brazing, piping, and system repairs
  • Troubleshooting electrical control circuits
  • Working with LP and natural gas systems
  • Diagnosing advanced refrigeration controls including Novar and Danfoss systems
  • Participating in a rotating on-call schedule
  • Occasional regional travel with overnight stays as needed


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of commercial or supermarket refrigeration experience
  • EPA Universal Certification required
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 80 pounds
