Manual Plate Roll Operator / Plate Rolling Specialist
Phoenix, AZ 85041

We are seeking a skilled Manual Plate Roll Operator with experience rolling carbon steel,
stainless steel, and alloy plate for custom fabrication projects. This is not an entry-level position.
We're looking for someone who understands the trade and can take a job from a flat plate to a
finished rolled component with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
• Operate manual 3-roll and semi-CNC 4-roll plate rolling machines.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Calculate and understand stretch-out, developed lengths, inside/outside radiuses, and finished
diameters.
• Client out, set up, and roll cylinders, cones, shells, and custom formed components.
• Perform multiple passes and make adjustments to achieve tight tolerances.
• Verify dimensions and maintain quality throughout the rolling process.
• Work with production, welding, and fit-up teams to ensure components meet project requirements.
• Safely handle large steel plate using overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment.

Qualifications
• 5 years of plate rolling or heavy plate fabrication experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of plate rolling principles, material behavior, and springback.
• Ability to determine proper roll settings without relying solely on CNC programming.
• Experience with both manual and CNC-assisted plate rolls is a plus.
• Ability to read fabrication prints and perform shop math.
• Experience rolling heavy plate, pressure vessel components, tanks, structural steel, or custom
fabricated parts is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
