- We are seeking an experienced EDI Manager to serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations across a transportation and supply chain technology environment.
- This role is responsible for the end-to-end management, development, support, and optimization of EDI processes that facilitate critical customer, carrier, and partner transactions.
- This is a highly hands-on position focused on EDI development, mapping, integration management, transaction monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
- The EDI Manager will work independently to ensure the stability, accuracy, and efficiency of EDI communications while supporting ongoing customer and carrier onboarding initiatives.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC), Cleo Integration Studio (CIS), EDI mapping and transformation logic, SQL Server, and transportation or logistics-related integration environments.
EDI Integration Ownership & Support
- Own and manage the full lifecycle of EDI integrations, including design, development, testing, implementation, monitoring, and ongoing support.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for EDI standards, processes, and trading partner integrations.
- Ensure the reliability and accuracy of EDI transaction processing across customers, carriers, vendors, and business partners.
- Maintain and support system-to-system data flows across transportation and supply chain platforms.
- Support onboarding activities for new customers, carriers, and trading partners.
- Analyze, develop, and maintain EDI integrations utilizing Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC).
- Create, modify, and maintain EDI maps, transformation rules, and business logic.
- Configure and manage EDI communications and trading partner connections.
- Develop and maintain documentation for integrations, mapping specifications, and business processes.
- Support XML and EDI-based integrations across multiple platforms and technologies.
- Monitor transaction activity and proactively identify integration issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related production incidents, data discrepancies, and transaction failures.
- Manage EDI support queues, backlogs, escalations, and issue resolution timelines.
- Track process flows and system errors through Cleo Integration Studio (CIS).
- Serve as the primary escalation point for EDI production support issues.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, carriers, partners, and internal stakeholders to resolve integration challenges.
- Manage EDI project timelines, deliverables, testing activities, and implementation schedules.
- Own EDI service level agreements (SLAs), including response times, testing standards, backlog management, and system availability targets.
- Provide project status updates and communicate risks, dependencies, and delivery expectations to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve integration processes, automation, monitoring, and service delivery.
- Stay current on EDI standards, transportation technology trends, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on EDI development, integration, and production support experience.
- Strong experience with EDI workflows, trading partner integrations, and transaction lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC) (Required)
- Cleo Integration Studio (CIS) (Required)
- Experience developing and maintaining EDI mappings and transformation logic.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience for EDI integrations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including querying and extracting data to support integrations.
- Familiarity with ANSI X12 standards and common transaction sets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Industry Experience
- Transportation, logistics, supply chain, or third-party logistics (3PL) experience.
- Experience supporting SaaS-based transportation or logistics platforms.
- Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).
- Orderful platform experience, including configuration and setup.
- SAP Logistics Business Network (SAP LBN).
- Strong familiarity with ANSI X12 transaction sets, including:
- 810 – Invoice
- 850 – Purchase Order
- 855 – Purchase Order Acknowledgment
- 856 – Advance Ship Notice (ASN)
- 940 – Warehouse Shipping Order
- Experience supporting XML and other structured data integrations.
- Experience with electronic payment platforms.
- Successful candidates will bring a combination of technical expertise and independent ownership, including:
- Proven experience managing EDI integrations from development through production support.
- Strong Cleo CIC and CIS experience.
- Experience working within transportation, logistics, or supply chain environments.
- Ability to independently manage priorities, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive projects to completion.
- Strong understanding of EDI mapping, transaction monitoring, and integration support processes.
- Candidates with strong Cleo expertise and hands-on EDI development backgrounds will be considered, even if they have limited formal management experience, as this role is primarily an individual contributor position with significant ownership responsibilities.
