Our client, a well-established and highly regarded business based in Rosebery, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team on a short-term temporary assignment.
This role has become available to provide leave cove from mid-September until early October, and offers an excellent opportunity for an AP professional who can hit the ground running, work independently and confidently manage a high volume workload within strict deadlines.
The Role
Working closely with the Senior Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing and reconciling high-volume freight invoices
- Processing general supplier invoices
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Creating payroll-related payments
- Assisting with accruals and other finance tasks where required
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring deadlines are met
The Senior Assistant Accountant will oversee the more complex AP activities, allowing you to focus on daily transaction processing and reconciliation tasks.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable position
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Experience working within a high-volume processing environment
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
- Streamline system beneficial but not essential
