A leading underground gold operation is seeking an experienced Alternate Underground Manager to join its senior leadership team.
This role offers the opportunity to lead operational and technical teams, influence mine planning and project delivery, mentor emerging professionals, and play a key role in delivering safe and productive mining outcomes.

About the Role
A leading underground gold operation is seeking an experienced Alternate Underground Manager to join its senior leadership team.
This role offers the opportunity to lead operational and technical teams, influence mine planning and project delivery, mentor emerging professionals, and play a key role in delivering safe and productive mining outcomes.
Working alongside an experienced site leadership team, you will have exposure to multiple underground mining methods and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
Reporting to the Underground Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture across the operation
- Aligning production activities with short and medium-term mine plans
- Reviewing and approving underground mine planning documentation
- Leading, coaching and developing Underground Mining Engineers and technical personnel
- Managing underground and surface projects, including contractor performance
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cost control processes
- Preparing and approving capital expenditure submissions
- Monitoring operational performance and reporting outcomes to senior leadership
- Acting as the Registered Manager when required
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements as Alternate Underground Manager
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Strong underground hard rock mining experience
- Demonstrated experience in mine planning and production leadership
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A commitment to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence
