Senior SAP IS-U ABAP Developer

Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid; First two weeks will be fully onsite; followed by 1 week each month at the Gas Tower)

Duration: 6-month contract

Pay: $93-98/hr




We are seeking a Senior SAP IS-U ABAP Developer to support application development, system enhancements, integrations, and production operations within a complex SAP environment. This role will work across SAP IS-U, ABAP, RICEFW, BTP, and UI5 while partnering with technical and functional teams to resolve issues and deliver system improvements.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support SAP IS-U applications through go-live, hypercare, stabilization, and ongoing production support.
  • Develop and maintain custom ABAP programs and RICEFW objects, including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
  • Develop and enhance SAP BTP and UI5 applications.
  • Support integrations between SAP and external systems.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and drive defects to resolution within established targets.
  • Manage technical tickets and prioritize competing issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with functional, integration, Basis, security, architecture, and project teams on technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, and system enhancement activities.
  • Communicate technical issues, resolution progress, and root causes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging SAP and cloud technologies through ongoing training and hands-on experience.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on SAP IS-U development experience.
  • Strong experience developing SAP RICEFW objects.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP BTP.
  • Strong SAP BTP/UI5 development experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and work independently across multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP Integration Suite.
  • Experience with SAP C4C V2.
  • Utility industry experience supporting customer information systems (CIS).
  • Familiarity with ITIL, TOGAF, PMP, or similar industry standards.
