Truck Mechanic Location: Grandville, MI Shift: 1st Shift | Flexible Schedule Between 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday-Friday) Pay: Starting at $25/hr, based on experience Overtime: May be required as needed Job Summary Are you an experienced mechanic who enjoys working on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment? What You'll Be Doing As a Truck Mechanic, your core responsibilities will include: ? Diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicles: Perform maintenance and repairs on trailers, pickup trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other company equipment. ? Troubleshooting mechanical issues: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational problems with minimal supervision. ? Performing preventative maintenance: Complete scheduled inspections and maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and reduce downtime. ? Reading technical documentation: Utilize prints, schematics, owner's manuals, and service documentation to facilitate repairs and maintenance activities. ? Maintaining repair records: Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs completed, parts used, and inspection findings. ? Supporting a diverse fleet: Work on a variety of company vehicles and equipment, as well as occasional personal vehicles owned by management. ? Ensuring workplace safety: Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment. What We're Looking For Qualifications: ? Previous experience working on a variety of vehicles and industrial equipment. ? Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues independently. ? Experience performing preventative maintenance and general repairs. ? Willingness to work overtime when needed. ? Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. ? Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision. ? Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. Skills & Expertise: ? Mechanical Systems: Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. ? Electrical Systems: Thorough understanding of electrical systems and components used in vehicles and equipment. ? Hydraulic Systems: Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems and related equipment. ? Technical Documentation: Ability to read and interpret prints, schematics, owner's manuals, and service documentation. ? Welding & Fabrication: Welding experience preferred to assist with equipment and vehicle repairs. ? Preventative Maintenance: Ability to identify potential issues and perform routine maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment performance. Work Environment ? Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and industrial equipment. ? Noise levels in the work environment are typically loud. ?
