Key Responsibilities
- Lead sawmill, planing mill, treatment plant and kiln operations
- Manage production teams to achieve quality, output and delivery targets
- Provide strong, disciplined and visible leadership across the operation
- Manage production processes, materials and stock movements
- Ensure finished timber products meet required quality standards
- Manage consumables including saw blades, planer knives, treatment chemicals, packing and strapping materials
- Monitor operational equipment across the sawmill and planing mill
- Drive workplace safety and compliance
- Provide hands-on training, mentoring and development of employees
- Identify and implement operational and workplace improvements
- Work collaboratively as part of the company's senior management team
We are looking for someone who has built their career within sawmilling and timber processing and understands the practical realities of running a productive manufacturing operation.

- Significant experience within the sawmill and timber industry
- At least 5 years' experience at a senior operational or supervisory level
- Strong knowledge of sawmill and planing mill operations
- Experience with timber treatment plants and kiln operations

- Strong workplace health and safety knowledge
- Experience improving production processes, quality and operational performance
- The ability to train, mentor and develop employees
- A practical, hands-on leadership style
- The ability to manage multiple production priorities in a demanding environment
