Traffic Engineer

Aspect Personnel is working with a council in Melbourne's East to recruit an experienced Traffic Engineer for a 3 to 6-month contract.

You will be primarily responsible for reviewing and responding to planning referrals, assessing TMPs, responding to resident enquiries as well as supporting the delivery of traffic and transport projects.

Employed as a Traffic Engineer, you will also be responsible for:

• Providing engineering recommendations to traffic, parking, road safety & public transport issues impacting the Council
• The development and review of traffic management plans 
• Traffic investigations 
• Assessing planning applications
• Responding to enquiries from local residents and clients.
• Identifying & providing recommendations on accident blackspots
• Customer service 

As the ideal candidate you will have/be:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant experience/qualifications
• Experience working as a Traffic or Transport Engineer preferably within Local Government
• Ability to prepare and review Traffic Management Plans
• Solid knowledge of Local Government traffic and transport procedures and policies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A current drivers license
