About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join their People and Culture team. In this strategic and operational role, you will work closely with business leaders to provide expert advice and support across the full employee lifecycle while driving people initiatives that enhance organisational effectiveness and culture.

As a trusted advisor, you will identify people-related risks, opportunities, and challenges, coaching leaders to implement best-practice human resource management and achieve business objectives. You will play a key role in employee relations, workforce planning, change management, organisational development, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with leaders to deliver strategic and operational HR solutions that support organisational goals. 
  • Provide expert advice on Enterprise Agreement and Award interpretation, employment conditions, workforce planning, retention, performance management, and change management. 
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflict resolution. 
  • Lead and implement people-focused projects and initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organisational effectiveness. 
  • Coach and influence leaders on people management practices and workforce capability development. 
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across the organisation to foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to HR team members, supporting the delivery of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Support recruitment and selection activities in partnership with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers.
  • Provide expert advice on HR systems and workforce data while maintaining data integrity and compliance.
About You You are an experienced HR professional with strong business partnering capability and a passion for helping leaders navigate complex people matters. You are highly skilled at building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and delivering practical solutions that balance organisational objectives with employee outcomes.


Essential Skills & Experience
  • Degree qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
  • Several years' experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or HR Business Partnering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and industrial relations practices. 
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters, investigations, and workplace conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and people-focused projects. 
  • High-level stakeholder management, coaching, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). 
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

Highly Regarded
  • Experience working within local government or a highly unionised environment.
  • Experience supporting diverse workforces with complex industrial relations matters.
  • Exposure to organisational development, workforce planning, and culture transformation initiatives.
