About the Role
I am seeking an experienced and highly capable Finance Officer to join a values-driven organisation undergoing an exciting period of positive change.
Working closely alongside the CFO, this position requires a confident finance professional who can step into the role with minimal training and quickly provide high-level operational finance support across the organisation.
This is not a junior accounts or administration role. I am specifically seeking someone with demonstrated experience managing complex finance functions within a fast-paced environment, with a strong working knowledge of Xero at an advanced level.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing end-to-end accounts payable and receivable functions
- Maintaining accurate financial records, reconciliations and general ledger management
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Processing purchase orders, invoices and complex reconciliations
- Supporting payroll preparation, approvals and compliance processes
- Assisting with grants and contract administration, including allocation of revenue and expenditure
- Identifying and resolving financial discrepancies and queries efficiently
- Supporting the CFO with accurate and timely financial information
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a senior Finance Officer, Bookkeeper or Accounting support position
- Advanced working knowledge of Xero - non-negotiable
- The ability to work autonomously and confidently with minimal supervision
- Strong reconciliation, reporting and financial administration capability
- High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Professional judgement, discretion and integrity when handling confidential information
- A collaborative and team-focused approach
- Respect and understanding for Aboriginal people and culture
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting, commerce or related discipline highly regarded
