Payroll Officer

Clarity Partners is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join an ASX-listed mining company on a part-time basis 3 days a week (flexible on your terms).

You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll while supporting employees across the business. The role will suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work and is confident managing payroll queries, reconciliations and day-to-day payroll requirements.

What You'll Do

• Process end-to-end payroll accurately and within scheduled deadlines
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure changes are processed correctly
• Manage payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders
• Ensure payroll calculations, deductions, leave and other employee entitlements are processed accurately
• Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting
• Support compliance with relevant legislation, awards and company policies
• Maintain payroll data and documentation with a high level of confidentiality
• Assist with payroll audits, reporting and year-end requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and controls
• Work collaboratively with the broader Finance and People teams to ensure a smooth payroll function

About You

• Previous experience in a payroll-focused role, ideally within mining, resources or another complex payroll environment
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and employee entitlements
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Confident handling payroll queries and communicating with employees at all levels
• Strong Excel and SAP experience is highly regarded
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently
• High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee information
• Payroll qualifications or relevant experience will be highly regarded
