Job Summary
We're looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join a team specializing in the production of custom tooling and fixtures. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision tooling and fixtures that meet engineering specifications and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint reading skills, CNC programming experience, and takes pride in producing high-quality, precision-machined components.
What You'll Be Doing
As a CNC Machinist, your core responsibilities will include:
Programming and Operating CNC Machines: Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture custom tooling and fixtures.
Creating and Editing CNC Programs: Utilize Fusion 360 or Mastercam software to develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs.
Reading Blueprints and Technical Drawings: Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate machining and production.
Inspecting Finished Parts: Use precision measuring tools to verify finished tooling and fixtures meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
Making Machine Adjustments: Monitor machine performance, make tooling changes, and adjust machine offsets to maintain production accuracy.
Maintaining Equipment: Perform routine machine maintenance and keep workstations clean, organized, and production-ready.
Following Safety Procedures: Adhere to all company safety policies while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
In addition, you will troubleshoot machining issues, document production information, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to manufacture high-quality custom tooling solutions.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
Previous CNC machining experience required.
Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes.
Blueprint reading experience is required.
Previous experience using Fusion 360 or Mastercam software preferred.
Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Skills
CNC Programming: Ability to program CNC mills and lathes for efficient and accurate production.
CAD/CAM Software: Experience using Fusion 360 or Mastercam to create and modify CNC programs.
Precision Machining: Experience producing custom tooling, fixtures, and precision-machined components.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
Quality Inspection: Skilled in using precision measuring instruments to verify finished parts.
Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary machine adjustments.
Safety Awareness: Commitment to following workplace safety standards and maintaining a clean work environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
Ability to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking fluids.
