A large regional technology group is hiring a Frontend Engineer for its central finance technology team. The team builds the data platforms and web tools that finance teams across several major business lines use for reporting and analysis. You'll own the frontend of these tools, focusing on performance and user experience, with room to explore how emerging tech like LLMs could improve them.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and own the frontend of internal web apps, from understanding requirements through design, build, testing and release
- Improve page speed, reliability and usability across existing tools
- Work closely with product managers, designers and backend/data engineers to plan and ship new features
- Keep code quality high through testing, code reviews and maintainable design
- Keep up with developments in LLMs, embeddings and prompt engineering, and assess where they could add practical value to existing tools
- Spot pain points in current tools and development workflows, then propose and lead improvements
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Strong React skills and solid fundamentals in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS
- Proven work on web performance, with clear cases of diagnosing and fixing slow or unstable frontends
- Experience with modern frontend tooling for automated testing, CI/CD and deployment
- Good grasp of the full web stack and common network protocols
- A good eye for UI/UX
- Curiosity about new technologies and comfort experimenting with early-stage tools
- Nice to have: experience building data-heavy internal tools or dashboards
- Nice to have: any hands-on experimentation with LLMs or AI tooling
