Yoh Life Sciences is hiring for a Production & Assembly Technician in Austin, TX.

This is a hands-on technical manufacturing role supporting the assembly, testing, and quality of analytical instrumentation and equipment used in industrial and energy applications. The technician will work with electrical control panels, wiring and cabling, flow cells, fiber-optic components, and other electromechanical assemblies.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience assembling and testing electrical or electromechanical equipment, can read electrical schematics and technical drawings, is comfortable using a multimeter, and has experience troubleshooting and testing completed assemblies.

Title: Production & Assembly Technician
Location: Austin, TX 78758
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (schedule may vary)
Pay: $24–$26/hr
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble NIR analyzer control panels, flow cells, fiber-optic cables, and other electromechanical products according to production procedures, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Perform electrical assembly, wiring, cabling, component installation, and mechanical assembly using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Perform electrical acceptance testing and functional testing of components and completed assemblies.
  • Perform optical testing of fiber-optic cables and related assemblies and approve completed products for shipment.
  • Use a multimeter to perform electrical measurements and troubleshooting.
  • Work safely with 120VAC electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot assembly and testing issues and identify the source of electrical, mechanical, or component-related problems.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment and tools.
  • Perform quality inspections and document test results, non-conformances, and other required QC information.
  • Create, maintain, and archive production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all applicable safety, quality, and production procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on experience assembling and testing electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, or fluid-handling systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Hands-on experience using a multimeter for electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable working with 120VAC electrical systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot problems rather than simply identify them.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions accurately.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to document production and QC results.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building electrical control panels or industrial equipment.
  • Experience with wire harnesses, cable assemblies, connectors, crimping, or electrical terminations.
  • Experience with fiber-optic cables, optical testing, or instrumentation.
  • Experience assembling or testing analytical instrumentation, industrial equipment, or fluid-handling systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment in a production environment.
