Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer to support the production, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of complex RF and microwave electronic modules used in high-reliability aerospace and defense applications.

This is a highly hands-on engineering position for an RF professional who enjoys working directly with hardware, test equipment, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional engineering groups. The engineer will support products throughout the full life cycle while independently troubleshooting complex technical issues and developing innovative solutions to production and integration challenges.

The ideal candidate will have experience with RF/microwave systems, hands-on hardware troubleshooting, RF test equipment, microwave simulation tools, production support, and failure investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the production and sustainment of complex multi-function RF and microwave modules.
  • Troubleshoot RF hardware, designs, integration issues, and production-related technical problems.
  • Perform hands-on testing, debugging, analysis, and evaluation of RF and microwave systems.
  • Utilize RF/microwave test equipment and simulation tools to identify issues and validate solutions.
  • Support products throughout all phases of the product life cycle.
  • Independently investigate and resolve technical issues associated with operational products.
  • Lead or support failure investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, circuit design, manufacturing, industrial engineering, and technical support teams.
  • Work directly with manufacturing personnel and production operators to resolve technical issues.
  • Review and interpret technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, drawings, and test data.
  • Develop practical and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and solutions to internal teams and customers.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations when required.
  • Support production efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance required to start.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another STEM-related field, plus 5 years of relevant professional engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience working with RF and microwave hardware.
  • Experience troubleshooting designs and resolving integration issues in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using RF/microwave test equipment.
  • Experience with microwave/RF simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • Significant experience in the defense electronics or aerospace industry.
  • Prior RF design engineering experience.
  • Expertise with RF subsystems and components, including:
    • Antennas
    • Transmitters and receivers
    • Microwave components
    • Low-noise amplifiers (LNAs)
    • High-power amplifiers (HPAs)
    • RF amplifiers
    • Mixers
    • Switches
    • Frequency generation circuits
    • Frequency conversion circuits
    • Advanced electronic modules
  • Experience with microelectronics assembly techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of RF and microwave circuit design.
  • Experience leading technical failure investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with customer interface and technical presentations.
  • Strong understanding of engineering documentation, including specifications, schematics, drawings, and test data.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, technicians, and production operators.

Schedule & Training Requirements

The selected contractor must complete approximately 6 weeks of first-shift training before transitioning to the regular weekend shift.

Training Schedule:
Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Regular Weekend Schedule:
Thursday–Sunday | 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
