Job Title: Material Handler
Job Location: Jackson, MI
Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $18-$20/hr (Depending on Experience Level)
Second Shift: 2:30pm-12:30am or 3:30pm-1:30am, Monday through Friday
Job Description: We are searching for a reliable Material Handler/ Shipping and Receiving Associate to utilize manual and/or power material handling equipment to pick, sort and place material in designated locations. Palletize and stage materials for shipment as well as receiving stock for inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Record inventory counts, document orders using scanners or software, and maintain accurate records of materials handled.
- Deliver materials to production lines and move finished goods to storage or shipping docks.
- Efficiently move, stock and organize materials is designated areas.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, check shipments for damage, and verify against, and sign for shipping documents.
- Perform quality control on items
- Support tasks such as loading trucks, preparing shipments, and operating a Hi-Lo when primary duties are complete.
- Maintain a clean, safe and efficient warehouse area, including sorting, staging and storing materials.
- Work overtime as needed based on workload demands, which may include weekdays, and weekends.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency with basic measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, scales).
- Proficiency with computers, inventory software, and data entry.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Ability to work independently.
- Understanding of BOM’s and material flow
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- 1-2 years of shipping and receiving experience.
- Experience and understanding of using Hilo’s and overhead cranes to move raw plate(s) safely.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings.
