Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled professional to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair boilers and related equipment. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work safely in challenging environments, and comfort working both at significant heights and in confined spaces.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with boiler systems and be physically capable of performing inspections and repairs in industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair boilers and related mechanical equipment.
- Perform inspections to identify mechanical issues, defects, wear, and potential safety concerns.
- Diagnose problems and determine appropriate repair or maintenance requirements.
- Safely perform work in confined spaces and other challenging work environments.
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Safely perform work at heights ranging from approximately 20 to 1,000 feet above ground level.
- Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other equipment necessary to complete inspections and repairs.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, company policies, and job-site requirements.
- Accurately document inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and identified issues.
- Follow instructions and complete other job-related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
This position is physically demanding. Employees must be able to:
- Stand, sit, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl regularly.
- Lift and/or move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, and operate tools, equipment, and controls.
- Occasionally reach with hands and arms above shoulder level.
- Possess the visual acuity necessary to inspect equipment, identify defects, and safely perform required work.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including significant heat and cold.
- Work safely at heights ranging from approximately 20 to 1,000 feet above ground level.
- Physically perform inspections and repairs on boiler systems.
Qualifications
- Previous experience inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing boilers or similar industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work safely in confined spaces and at significant heights.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness and physical ability to perform demanding field work.
Work Environment
This is a hands-on field position that may involve:
- Industrial and mechanical environments.
- Confined spaces.
- Elevated work areas and towers.
- Outdoor work in extreme temperatures.
- Exposure to equipment, tools, noise, dust, and other industrial conditions.
