Are you an experienced CNC operator looking for a long-term role with the potential to go permanent? Appointments Personnel is recruiting for a Multi Skilled Machine Operative to join a busy manufacturing team in Stoke-on-Trent, on a temporary to permanent basis. This role involves operating CNC profile burning machinery, including gas and plasma cutting equipment, and would suit candidates with previous CNC experience within a manufacturing environment.

The Role

As a Multi Skilled Machine Operative, you'll be responsible for operating CNC profile burning machinery, including gas and plasma cutting equipment, while ensuring production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC profile burning machinery, including gas and plasma cutting equipment.
  • Safely operate forklift trucks and overhead cranes where required.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
  • Carry out daily machine checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the production area.
  • Work closely with colleagues and communicate effectively with supervisors.
  • Identify and report production or quality issues promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process improvements.
  • Provide flexibility to support shift cover during holidays and staff absence.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this Multi Skilled Machine Operative role, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing environment.
  • A valid FLT licence, ideally counterbalance.
  • Overhead crane experience is advantageous.
  • A good understanding of health and safety within an industrial environment.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A reliable, proactive and hardworking approach.

Salary and Benefits
