Revenue Accountant

What you will do

• Prepare reconciliations and accounting entries for all revenue and related accounts under ASC 606, balance sheet accounts including deferred revenue, contract assets and liabilities, commission capitalization, accounts receivables,
  and allowance for doubtful accounts.

• Work closely with the US headquarters to analyze accounting treatments and reconciliations on an ad-hoc basis.

• Driving overall design of controls, narratives, mapping flow, and guidance for best practices needed for the company’s financial and business controls around revenue accounting, commission capitalization, and cash collection.

• Maintaining documents subject to SOX and guidance, comprehensive work papers and audit trail, and drive annual and quarterly certification processes.

• Preparing or improving certain policies and procedures to properly govern the company and make each department function in the best possible way by partnering with the other applicable departments.

Requirements

What we are looking for

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Revenue Accounting preferably with audit experience in professional firm

• An understanding of Japanese Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (JGAAP), US GAAP, or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

• Excellent Japanese and English business language skills – both oral and written

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent knowledge, CPA preferred

• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to details

• Clear and concise documentation skills, experiences with policy and flowchart documentations preferred

• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Strong team-player who can get on with a wide range of teams and team members

• Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with a wide cross-section of the company team and external auditors

• Independent, self-starter willing to think outside of the box
