An exciting newly created opportunity for a Project Officer- Program Curriculum to join a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to creating positive educational, health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.

Working across innovative early childhood and youth development programs, you will play a key role in reviewing, developing and enhancing curriculum, learning resources and educational content that is culturally safe, engaging and practical. Collaborating with program leaders and subject matter experts, you will ensure resources are aligned with best-practice educational frameworks while reflecting the strengths, knowledge and lived experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

About the Role

As the Project Officer- Program Curriculum, you will:
  • Review, develop and refine curriculum, session plans and educational resources across early childhood and school-aged programs.
  • Translate curriculum frameworks into practical, engaging teaching and learning resources.
  • Develop educator tools, self-assessment resources and supporting documentation that promote quality program delivery.
  • Design culturally appropriate health, nutrition and wellbeing resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities.
  • Ensure educational content is evidence-informed, accessible and aligned with organisational values and program outcomes.
  • Support pilot projects through curriculum development, resource creation and project coordination.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and community stakeholders to ensure resources are culturally responsive, practical and fit for purpose.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen curriculum and learning outcomes across programs.
About You

You are an experienced educator, curriculum specialist or learning designer who is passionate about creating educational resources that have genuine social impact.

You will bring:
  • A qualification in Education (Early Childhood or Primary), Educational Design, Learning Design or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing or implementing curriculum and educational resources.
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and/or the Australian Curriculum.
  • Excellent written communication and instructional design skills, with the ability to translate educational concepts into engaging and practical learning materials.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Success in this role requires a genuine commitment to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and a strong understanding of culturally responsive practice.

You will demonstrate:
  • A deep understanding of the historical and contemporary experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • The ability to develop curriculum and learning resources that are culturally safe, strengths-based and reflective of community knowledge and perspectives.
  • An appreciation of the importance of genuine partnership, cultural humility and community-led approaches when designing educational resources.
  • The ability to collaborate respectfully with diverse stakeholders and contribute to programs that support positive educational, health and wellbeing outcomes.
