Low Voltage Technician – Structured Cabling & Security Systems | Midland & Pecos, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Pull, terminate, dress, and label Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and service access control, CCTV, and other low voltage systems
  • Build out and support MDFs, IDFs, telecom rooms, and network infrastructure
  • Read and interpret low voltage system layouts, blueprints, and construction drawings
  • Test all installed cabling using appropriate testing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and system performance issues
  • Work safely on ladders and lifts (comfortable with heights)
  • Install and support low voltage systems in commercial, industrial, and new construction environments
  • Perform interior installations with occasional exterior cable pulls as required
  • Track time accurately using assigned job names and job numbers

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated low voltage installation experience
  • Experience with structured cabling, access control, CCTV, and network infrastructure
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Lift, OSHA, and BICSI certifications are a plus
  • Must have full PPE and basic hand tools (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel and stay out of town during the work week as needed

Travel & Project Details:

  • Current projects are primarily located in Midland and Pecos, TX
  • If coming from the Lubbock area, technicians will meet at the office and travel to Midland with a Lead Technician
  • Drive time is provided when traveling from the office with the Lead Technician
  • Technicians will typically stay in Midland/Pecos throughout the week and return to Lubbock on Fridays
  • Technicians may also drive directly to the job site if preferred
  • $40/day per diem provided
  • New construction job sites with primarily indoor work and some exterior cable pulls
