Are you a highly organised construction professional who thrives on keeping projects, people and processes running smoothly? Our client, a well established Christchurch-based residential property developer, is seeking a proactive and capable Contracts Administrator to join their close-knit team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a key support person within the business, working closely with the Construction Manager and Quantity Surveyor across a portfolio of completed and active residential developments. This role sits predominantly within the post-construction phase, ensuring all contractual, compliance, supplier and administrative functions are delivered to a high standard.
About the Role
As the Contracts Administrator, you'll be the central point of coordination between councils, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders. This is a varied, hands-on position that requires someone who can confidently juggle multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Construction Manager and Quantity Surveyor with day-to-day contract administration
- Managing and coordinating supplier communications and documentation
- Assisting with council-related processes, compliance requirements and regulatory documentation
- Coordinating building approvals, code compliance and handover-related administration
- Producing statements, reports and project-related documentation
- Managing material orders and tracking supplier information
- Maintaining accurate project records and filing systems
- Providing general administrative support across construction and development activities
- Assisting with website updates and content administration
- Supporting the wider team wherever needed in a true all-rounder capacity
To be successful in this role, you'll bring proven experience within the residential construction industry and have a strong understanding of the compliance and regulatory requirements associated with delivering residential developments.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience in a Contracts Administrator, Construction Administrator, Project Administrator or similar role
- Solid understanding of residential construction processes
- Demonstrated experience managing council consents, compliance requirements, Code Compliance Certificate (CCC) processes, and local authority documentation
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with councils, suppliers and contractors
- The ability to prioritise competing tasks and work independently
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude
- High attention to detail and strong document management skills
