Angle Recruitment is partnering with a leading shipping company in the Middle East to identify an experienced Head of Marine QHSE.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the fleet's QHSE function, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, driving safety performance, managing audits and investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture across both shore-based and onboard personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the fleet's QHSE function, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, driving safety performance, managing audits and investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture across both shore-based and onboard personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the focal point for fleet QHSE compliance, including ISM, ISPS, MLC, and Flag State requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Lead internal and external audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Serve as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO).
- Monitor fleet QHSE performance and provide reporting to management.
- Support vessel takeovers, ship management activities, and emergency response preparedness.
- Lead and develop the QHSE team while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead Auditor certification for ISM and ISPS.
- Numerous years of QHSE experience within the shipping, marine, or offshore industry.
- Experience in a senior leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, audits, compliance, incident investigation, and safety management systems.
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 frameworks preferred.
