A leading international law firm is looking to hire a Payroll Specialist to join its London payroll function.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the detail of end-to-end payroll processing, takes pride in getting things right first time, and is confident handling the more complex side of payroll compliance, particularly expat and internationally mobile populations.
The focus is practical delivery. You will run monthly payroll inputs and uploads, manage joiners, leavers and changes, keep the payroll masterfile accurate, and act as a dependable point of contact for employee and stakeholder queries.
Alongside this, you will play a key part in payroll accounting, including journals and control account reconciliations, making sure reporting is clean and audit-ready.
Where this role really stands out is the international element. You will support inpat, expat and short-term business visitor reporting and compliance, liaise with overseas offices where needed, and assist with secondment-related tax and social security processes.
You will also support statutory reporting and returns, auto enrolment processing, benefits and third-party reconciliations, and cyclical items such as season ticket loans. There is also responsibility for coordinating an outsourced European payroll process.
What they’re looking for
The priority here is experience and capability. You will have at least five years’ payroll and accounts administration experience and be confident in a high-pressure, high-standards environment.
Strong processing skills are essential, along with solid knowledge of PAYE, NIC and statutory calculations, and a good grasp of payroll accounting and reconciliations. Expat and internationally mobile compliance experience is particularly important. Experience in professional services is essential, with law firm exposure desirable, and knowledge of ADP and CIPP studies is a plus.
Working pattern
This role is four days per week, with flexibility possible depending on the candidate and business needs.
London-based.
If you enjoy payroll roles that combine delivery, controls and genuinely interesting international compliance work, this is a strong opportunity.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, experiences and characteristics.
If you require any adjustments or additional support at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know.
