Job Overview
We’re hiring a hands on Compressor Field Service Technician to support industrial rotary screw and reciprocating compressors used in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and industrial applications. This role is ideal for a mechanically strong technician who enjoys rotating equipment, troubleshooting, and a mix of shop and field work. No prior RNG/biogas experience required. OEM training and structured onboarding provided.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul industrial compressors
- Support installations, startups, and commissioning at customer sites
- Perform compressor overhauls and equipment prep in the Schaumburg shop
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues affecting performance
- Read P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematic
- Complete service documentation and work orders
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial mechanical, compressor, or rotating equipment experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings
- Valid driver’s license
- Comfortable working in shop and industrial field environments
Preferences
- Compressor, natural gas, pump, or rotating equipment background
- VFDs, industrial motors, or commissioning/startup experience
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
- ~80% travel, primarily U.S.; occasional Canada
- Typical travel: 2-3 weeks on site with scheduled home time
- Company paid airfare, hotels, and transportation, travel points can be accumulated by employees
- Night away allowance
- Paid travel time
Pay Range
The pay range for this role is Min - 80000 - Max - 100000 . The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
