APS 6 Business Engagement Officer

Are you a strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder engagement skills? Our Federal Government client is seeking a motivated and professional Business Engagement Officer to support ICT programs and initiatives within a dynamic government environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful organisational strategies and work with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Business Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in developing and implementing engagement strategies that facilitate effective collaboration and drive ICT initiatives forward. You will liaise closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational priorities. This is a 12-month non-ongoing position based in Canberra.

To be successful in this role you must:

• Demonstrated experience in business engagement or similar roles within ICT environments
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret business drivers and objectives
• Proven stakeholder management capabilities across diverse groups
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with ICT programmes and project delivery processes
• Ability to work independently with high levels of professionalism and integrity

To be considered for this role you must have:

• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and processes
• Experience supporting governance forums or decision-making bodies
• Skills in document and SharePoint management
• Understanding of government ICT policies and initiatives
• Degree in Information Technology, Business, Public Administration or related fields
• At least three years’ experience in a business engagement or ICT strategic role
• Experience working within government or large organisational settings

Other Requirements

• Security clearance at NV1 level
• Strong organisational skills to support meetings, documentation, and forum administration
• Ability to adapt communication styles across diverse audiences
