Payroll Officer
Our client is seeking Payroll Officer for full‑time assignments
📍 Location: Port Adelaide
🕒 Start Date: ASAP
📅 End Date: late November/early December (with possibility of extension)
About the Role
The HRIS/Payroll Officer will provide operational and administration support to the payroll process. In addition to this, coordinate accurate and timely entry of payroll and HRIS data, provide customer service, and report related functions.
Key Responsibilities
•Process weekly and fortnightly pays using the correct systems including RosterOn and TechOne
• Process leave accruals
• Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
• Collect, calculate, and enter data in order to maintain and update payroll information
• Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages and report on this as required
• Escalation of significant payroll discrepancies where required and through consultation with the HRIS Consultant
• Identify, investigate fortnightly discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
• Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures
• Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
• Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
• Calculate unemployment and severance payments
• Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor
Candidate Requirements
• Proven experience in Administration of payroll records, auditing, and reporting
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications including: Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Access
• Experience with Technology One, and Roster-On (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience in payroll and administration (desirable)
Skills and Knowledge
• Strong customer service skills with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a positive and co-operative manner
• Attention to detail is evidenced by low error rate
Qualifications
• A Certificate III/IV in Business Administration or related discipline and/or equivalent experience in a similar role
• Trained in the use of HR & Payroll software packages (desirable)
• Current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
• Current National Police Clearance (essential)
