Techforce is partnering with a major provider to build the maintenance crew for a significant steelmaking coal operation in the Bowen Basin, around two hours from Mackay.
The site is restarting under a solid new owner with an established Queensland coal portfolio. That means a maintenance team being built from the ground up, not inherited, and a long project runway in front of it.
What we're after
We're specifically chasing standout fitters. If you've got serious time on ultra-class hydraulic excavators, we want to talk.
What's in it
The work
Maintaining and repairing a mixed ultra-class and ancillary fleet: hydraulic excavators, ultra-class haul trucks, large dozers, graders, loaders, water carts and service trucks. Predominantly CAT with Hitachi excavation fleet.
Also hiring
Auto Electricians, Boilermakers, and Service Truck Operators on the same site and conditions.

What we're after

- Recognised HD Fitter trade qualification (AUR31220 Mobile Plant, MEM stream, or pre-AQF equivalent)
- 5 years post-apprenticeship on mining plant
- Hitachi EX3600 or Liebherr R9350 experience highly regarded
- Strong CAT mobile plant background across trucks, dozers, graders and loaders
- Current driver's licence
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical, D&A screen and National Police Check
- Coal Board Medical, or willing to obtain
