About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Terminal Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of a transportation terminal in Lake Panasoffkee, FL.

This position plays a key role in managing terminal profitability, transportation costs, fleet utilization, safety, customer service, and employee performance. The Terminal Operations Manager will lead both office and driver personnel while ensuring the terminal operates safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily terminal operations, including drivers, office personnel, equipment, routing, and capacity.
• Analyze routing, lane mix, transportation modes, and operating costs to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Monitor available loads and capacity and work with dispatch, brokerage, and sales teams to address changing transportation needs.
• Ensure orders are entered accurately, appointments are scheduled, equipment is assigned, and shipments are processed on time.
• Lead, coach, and provide ongoing performance feedback to drivers and office employees.
• Monitor operational and financial performance and communicate results and cost concerns to management.
• Help establish freight rates and negotiate rates with outside carriers.
• Monitor supply and demand and adjust resources to maintain appropriate capacity.
• Support customer service objectives while balancing service levels with transportation costs.
• Promote a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Assist with driver safety meetings, training, counseling, and disciplinary matters when appropriate.
• Assist with accident response and investigations as needed.
• Monitor vehicle and trailer maintenance, inspections, repairs, fuel usage, and overall equipment condition.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs to keep equipment safe and available.
• Review equipment and roadside inspection results and ensure identified issues are addressed before equipment returns to service.
• Identify opportunities to improve fleet utilization, reduce operating costs, and increase profitability.
• Make day-to-day decisions involving drivers, equipment, routing, carriers, rates, and customer service.

What We're Looking For

• 2–3 years of transportation, logistics, fleet, or terminal operations experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of transportation operations, routing, capacity planning, and cost management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze operational information and make sound business decisions.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to unexpected operational issues.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with standard office software.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and understand transportation regulations and company procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
