Mixing Operator - 3rd Shift
$17 to $19 p/hr depending on experience
Location: Melrose Park, IL
Job Requirements:
- 1 to 2 years of mixing operator experience
- Bilingual is preferred
- Must have experience with operating and maintaining the machines and ensuring the entire production line is running efficiently.
- Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following GMP practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements
- Ability to clean mixers, work areas properly during and after production runs or changeovers
- Mix doughs according to recipe.
- Have a working knowledge of the mixer, using the time and batch recipe system
- Monitor and assist with equipment upstream/downstream to ensure continuous operation.
- Ability to read and understand recipes.
- Use digital scales and have a working knowledge of scale functions.
- Follow FIFO (First in First Out), Mix lot number and documentation accuracy.
- Clean & Refill ingredient bins and label the bins with the correct lot number.
- Observe all plant safety, GMP and allergen procedures
- Ability to work in a standing position for entire shift and climb steps and ladders.
- Troubleshoot process related issues within the boundaries of the recipe
- Must be able to communicate with others as well as management understand FDA guidelines and company policies.
- Mathematical skills
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
- Understand and follow Food Safety policies
