About the Opportunity
Are you looking to build transformative software at the intersection of modern artificial intelligence and digital learning platforms? We are seeking an experienced Full Stack AI Engineer to drive the creation of intelligent applications, automated workflows, and robust cloud services. In this dynamic contract-to-hire role, you will play a central part in modernizing educational technology solutions while delivering seamless user experiences.
Responsibilities

Architect and deploy end-to-end web applications and internal tools empowered by artificial intelligence.

Construct modular backend architectures, data management pipelines, and business logic utilizing Node.js or Python.

Establish seamless connections between core educational administrative platforms, learning management environments, and third-party tools.

Design and publish reliable RESTful endpoints, GraphQL interfaces, and event-triggered webhooks.

Automate academic and engagement processes through smart, data-driven analytical workflows.

Orchestrate event-based processing systems and construct scalable serverless functions across major cloud providers.

Enforce robust security practices, including token-based authentication protocols, single sign-on (SSO), and strict student data privacy regulations.

Work alongside cross-functional engineering and infrastructure teams to launch enterprise-grade cloud solutions.
Requirements (must-have)

5+ years of software engineering expertise focused on full-stack development, API creation, or process automation.

Proven hands-on development experience in backend engineering using Python or Node.js.

Background building software that integrates with core academic management systems and learning platforms.

Demonstrated expertise in developing APIs and managing data pipelines or ETL synchronization.

Proficiency with leading cloud infrastructure providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Firm grasp of identity and access standards, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and IAM practices.

Strong analytical mind with exceptional technical communication and troubleshooting abilities.
Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-have)

Practical implementation of Large Language Models (LLMs) and automated intelligence tools.

Hands-on familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React.

Background with messaging queues or pub/sub models (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis).

Understanding of containerization techniques (Docker) and serverless compute models.

Experience documenting and testing APIs via OpenAPI/Swagger and Postman.

Prior exposure to mission-oriented, educational, or non-profit tech environments.
Compensation & Benefits

Target Pay Rate: $140.00/hour
