Estimator - Commercial Construction

Design & Build has partnered with a WA-owned and established commercial builder seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team, based in centrally located Perth offices.

The business delivers a diverse range of fit-out, refurbishment and new construction projects valued up to $50 million, with a strong pipeline of upcoming work.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for tenders and proposals.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation to determine project scope, materials and resources required.
• Obtain, review and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Coordinate tender submissions and contribute to bid strategy discussions.
• Identify potential cost risks, savings and value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, materials, subcontractor pricing and construction trends.
• Collaborate with project delivery and commercial teams to align estimates with project objectives and budgets.
• Ensure tenders are prepared and submitted accurately and within required timeframes.

To be considered for the role of Estimator, you must:

• Have a minimum of five years' post-graduate experience as an Estimator.
• Have proven estimating experience within the commercial construction sector.
• Have experience pricing commercial construction projects, ideally valued up to $50 million.
• Possess strong cost planning, estimating and commercial awareness.
• Be confident liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers and other project stakeholders.
• Have excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders to strict deadlines.
• Be a strong communicator with excellent attention to detail.
