We're partnering with one of Western Australia's leading independent supermarket groups to find an experienced Grocery Buyer to lead key grocery categories including Grocery, Dairy and Frozen. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the product offer across a respected retail network while working closely with suppliers, store teams and senior leadership.

About the Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll take ownership of key grocery categories, ensuring profitable growth, competitive ranging and strong supplier partnerships.

Working closely with store teams, you'll ensure category strategies translate into outstanding in-store execution while delivering a range that meets the needs of local customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of Grocery, Dairy and Frozen categories
• Develop profitable product ranges that balance customer demand and commercial outcomes
• Negotiate pricing, promotional activity and trading terms with suppliers
• Build strong relationships with both national suppliers and local producers
• Analyse sales, margins and market trends to identify growth opportunities
• Partner with store teams to ensure promotions and ranging are executed successfully
• Monitor competitor activity and emerging food trends
• Work collaboratively across merchandising, operations and marketing teams

About You
We're open to experienced Grocery Buyers or exceptional supermarket leaders looking to transition into a buying role.

You'll ideally bring:

• Previous experience as a Grocery Buyer, Category Manager or Merchandise Manager within supermarkets or FMCG
• Alternatively, you'll be a high-performing Store Manager with strong commercial capability and exposure to buying decisions
• Strong knowledge of Grocery, Dairy and Frozen categories
• Experience working within an independent supermarket group will be highly regarded
• Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to analyse sales and margin performance
• Outstanding supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers, leadership and store teams
• A collaborative approach with a genuine understanding of operational execution in-store
• Passion for delivering an exceptional customer offer
