The project will also involve onboarding customer websites behind an Akamai WAF solution and all necessary network configurations. About the Role:
This role is for a senior consultant to perform a network implementation of an Akamai web application firewall solution. The project will also involve onboarding customer websites behind an Akamai WAF solution and all necessary network configurations. The role requires extensive experience in DNS, DHCP, routing, C-Name changes, origin servers and the associated network impact for these changes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead network implementation projects for Akamai web application firewall solutions, including onboarding customer websites and configuring associated network settings.
- Develop migration strategies, onboarding plans, and ensure smooth execution of onboarding waves.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including issue resolution, risk mitigation, and guiding the onboarding process.
- Support DNS validation, troubleshoot cutover and onboarding issues, and confirm certificates and workflow integrity.
- Coordinate with diverse technical teams and stakeholders, including site owners, application teams, and network administrators.
- Perform root cause analysis for issues and recommend effective remediation activities.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating onboarding activities across regional sites.
- Support project documentation, technical reviews, and stakeholder communication to ensure project success.
- Deep experience with Akamai web firewall design, configuration, and implementation.
- Extensive knowledge of DNS, DHCP, routing, C-Name changes, and origin server management within complex, global networks.
- Proven experience in planning, designing, and deploying large-scale enterprise networks, including WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, and campus LAN environments.
- Industry certifications such as CCIE, with a strong foundation in network security and architecture.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, coupled with leadership abilities.
- The ability to work at both detailed and strategic levels on large transformation projects.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a strong sense of accountability and professionalism.
